First the celebrant stands before the central door to the sanctuary, makes the sign of the Cross and then says the following prayers before chanting the Angelic Hymn, " Glory to God in the highest", which is said before Morning Prayers:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. And upon us, weak and sinful ones, let mercy and compassion be showered in both worlds forever and ever. Amen.

The celebrant, with upraised hands, says:

Sanctify us by Your holiness, O Lord, Who are all holy. You have willed to be born of the holy Virgin Mary in order that with purity we may commemorate her and be protected by her prayers. We raise to You praise in this her feast now, always and forever. Amen.

General Supplication Prayer

Husoyo

Let us all pray and implore the Lord for kindness and mercy. Merciful Lord, have mercy upon us and help us. May we be worthy to raise to You praise, thanksgiving, glory, adoration and never-ceasing good exaltation continually, at all times and in all seasons.

Proemion
(Preface)

Praise be to the One Who is praised and glorified, Who has magnified the remembrance of His Mother in heaven and on earth, made the remembrance of His saints known in all the nations and poured the dew of mercy and compassion on the bone of sleeping believers, to Whom glory and honor are worthy at this time of the nocturnal prayer of forgiveness, and in all feasts, times, ages and through all the days of our life forevermore. Amen.

Sedro

As we celebrate a loving and dear remembrance of her who is worthy of praise and who is glorified by all the generations of the earth, the holy, praised, exalted and ever-virgin, the Blessed Mother of God, Mary, we remember with her, the holy prophets, the apostles, the preachers, the evangelists, the martyrs, the confessors, the just, the priests, the holy fathers, the true pastors, the orthodox doctors, the holy celibates, the righteous, the ascetics, the hermits, the monks and all those who do good works. By their prayers which You hear and their accepted supplications, look upon us with a merciful eye and forgive our debts, pardon our sins and make us and our departed ones worthy of the mansions of the heavenly Jerusalem and the bosom of Abraham that we may join the company of Your saints and be with them and among them. We raise glory and thanksgiving to You and to Your Father and to Your Living Holy Spirit, forevermore. Amen.

Then the celebrant turns toward the clergy and the faithful, stretching forth his hands and saying:

My brethren and dearly beloved, pray for me, for the love of the Lord, that Christ may accept my oblation.4:1

_____

4:1 When a prelate is present, the priest should ask his pardon by kissing his right hand. Likewise, he should ask pardon from all the clergymen by touching both their hands.
